We were lucky enough to be chosen by New World to be "Secret Agents" and try out one of their Kitchen Chemistry experiments. HB16 got to look at capillary action. First we put some food colouring and water into a glass then we twisted some tissues that we put into the glasses. One glass was red, one glass was blue. The glass in the middle was empty. Overnight, the water travelled along the tissues into the glass in the middle and turned it purple. This is called capillary action. Plants do it too. Have a look at the photos.
